BEST FABRICS FOR HOTFIX RHINESTORES:
Hotfix stones work best on fabrics that can withstand heat and absorb adhesive.
Recommended Fabrics | Why They Work Well |
---|---|
Cotton (100% or blends) | Porous + heat-friendly |
Polyester (or poly blends) | Works well if not heavily coated |
Denim | Durable and holds heat well |
Canvas | Great grip + heat resistance |
Spandex blends (low %)* | Works if heat is controlled carefully |
Fabrics That May Cause Issues:
Not Recommended | Reason |
---|---|
Nylon | Heat-sensitive, may scorch or melt |
Silk / Satin | Delicate, not heat-friendly |
Waterproof / Coated Fabrics | Coating blocks adhesive from bonding |
Leather / Faux Leather | Hotfix won’t absorb into the surface |
Highly Stretchy Spandex | May pop stones off after wear |
INSTRUCTIONS (Hotfix Rhinestone Transfers):
1. Temp: 325–350°F (163–177°C)
2. Time: 12–15 seconds
3. Pressure: Firm
4. Peel: Cold peel
5. Tool Needed: Heat press
PRO TIP:
Heat & Pressure Matter.
● Hotfix stones need sufficient heat, pressure, and time to activate the glue and bond to the fibers.
● Heat press is ideal. Household irons work, but may require more care and pressure.
● For best results, apply to cotton, polyester, denim, or canvas fabrics using a heat press or iron. Not recommended for nylon, silk, leather, or water-resistant garments.
